In Which Her Hotness Blows Milk Out Her Nose

At a recent dinner hour (always an adventure at Chez Five), Her Hotness and Girl 16 were messing with me about something. Prolly nose hair or deafness or other undeniable proof that I’m getting old.
I interrupted with my best outraged voice: “OnedayI’llbegoneandyou’llbesorry!”
Girl 16 had just taken a drink of milk. She clamped her hand over her mouth to keep from spraying it over the lovely mac and cheese. Her Hotness and I laughed at her as she bolted to the sink, coughing and sputtering.
“You choke to death, I’m not calling an ambulance,” I said.
Her Hotness said, “Wouldn’t you feel guilty if your daughter choked on milk because of you?”
“No,” I said. “I’d think, ‘What a ‘tard!’”
Her Hotness wasn’t as quick to cover her mouth and did in fact spray milk out her nose when she busted up.
It was the best laugh we’d had in a while. There is a balm in Gilead…

Laughter is that best medicine.
Man, is it universal that we get called old by our kids? Mine were dissing me over being 42 last night. 42!
And is it the age or the role? I mean do teenage dads get dissed by their ten-year-old when they turn 27???

It is a good story Joseph. It is the kind I like to read.

Pete, I think there’s a magical age at which people realize age is relative. Before that age, they think everyone older than them is old.
This milk episode was a gift that keeps on giving. She was blowing her nose later that night and milk was still coming out.
