To follow up on my post about homeless people showing up at Christmas parties, take a look at the awesome action going on over at IttyBiz. All of the proceeds that blog generates will be donated to charity. Why? Because We’re the Shoppers and We’ve Had Enough. Go read the whole post: Naomi’s manifesto about taking back the season. Here’s a sample:
We’ve had enough of watching you spend millions of dollars to persuade us that your lip gloss will make us more beautiful, while millions of people in this country eat less than one meal a day.
I hate shopping, but I don’t see a way around it other than to tell the five that we’re forgoing Christmas. That would not go over well with Her Hotness. So if you have to shop, do it over at Naomi’s place and shop with attitude!

Every year I threaten to convert to Judaism but my husband reminds me that since Hannukah has 8 days I’d probably end up buying more presents.
You can’t win.
